Help Solve A Murder
For too long, gun violence has ravaged communities, leaving families shattered and justice stalled. In the aftermath of these senseless killings, we’ve often turned to outside experts—police, politicians, and analysts—expecting them to solve the murders. But in doing so, we’ve ignored the true experts: the Black mothers and families who’ve lived through these tragedies. These are the people who have lost their children to gun violence, who’ve had to piece their lives back together after the system failed them. And most tragically, many of the murders remain unsolved.
Help Solve A Murder is a six-part docu-series that digs into these unsolved cases, shining a light on the voices of the Black mothers and families left to fight for justice. These are stories of pain and trauma—but also stories of resilience, of relentless pursuit for accountability in a broken system. These mothers are not just victims of crime; they are warriors demanding answers, fighting to ensure that their loved ones are not forgotten and that the cycle of violence stops.
Every day, these mothers live in a world where bullets fall like rain, cutting down their children, their partners, their friends. Gun violence isn’t just an isolated tragedy—it’s a daily reality in too many communities, especially those torn apart by systemic racism, poverty, and neglect. The roots of this violence are deep: sexism, racism, displacement, and injustice. The system is rigged against them, and the killers too often walk free, leaving families with no closure and no peace.
